  • 1984-1987:  Began baking in High School Vo-Tech Food Preparation Class

 

  • 1987:  First professional bakery position

 

  • 1987-1989:  Attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI

 

  • 1989:  Graduated Johnson & Wales with a Bachelor of Science in Pastry Arts

 

  • 1989-1996:  Apprenticed in several bakeries, studied under a world famous German pastry chef in Philadelphia, PA

 

  • 1996:  Opened Cakes by Kim in Wilmington, DE

 

  • 2004:  Moved operations to a larger, state-of-the art facility
