How will my cheesecake be packaged for shipping?

Our cheesecakes are frozen, wrapped in heavy plastic, then placed into a specially-formed foam container that surrounds the cheesecake in 2 inches of insulation. An ice pack is also included, to ensure the product stays cool during transit. Everything then goes into a heavy corrugated container.

 

We ship all of our products FedEx. The cheesecake will thaw during shipment. It should be removed from the shipping carton and placed in refrigeration immediately to firm up prior to eating.

 
When will my cheesecake be shipped and delivered?

When you select Regular Shipping, your cheesecake will arrive within 2 days after shipment from our store. If you choose Overnight Shipping, it will arrive the day after it ships. We e-mail your Fed-Ex tracking number on the day of shipment.

 

PLEASE NOTE: If you place your order on a Monday and request Overnight Shipping, your order will NOT be received on Tuesday. Keep in mind that we actually bake from scratch, freeze, package and ship your order here in our store. We need to bake the cake (a 24-hour process), freeze it (at least 12 hours), then package and ship the cake by Wednesday to be received by Friday. We give personal service and keep very close tabs on the quality of our product; you can request a specific date of receipt. If we cannot get it to by that date, we will let you know and attempt to work out other arrangements.

 
Can my order be delivered on a Monday, Saturday or Sunday?
We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, to insure delivery before the weekend. We do not want your order to be sitting in a warehouse, thawing for two or more days. Saturday delivery is available at an additional cost.
 
What time of day will my order be delivered?
FedEx delivers at different times in every city. It will depend on what other deliveries they may have in the area to which the package is being sent. We have no control over exact delivery time, and cannot request a specific time.
 
What if no one is home at the delivery address?

FedEx will leave the package in a safe place; most of our shipments are left at the door. After you receive our e-mail with the tracking number, your package should be received in 2 business days (or the next day, if that option was chosen). Keep an eye out for it, or contact the person to whom you shipped the gift to confirm it has arrived.

 

If you do not feel comfortable with this arrangement, we recommend you ship to a business address, or a place where someone would be available all day to receive a package.

 
If two items are shipped to the same address, can they be sent in one package?
No, since each product must go into it’s own specifically designed package. Our shipping charges are based on package size and weight.
 
Do you ship to Canada, or internationally?
At this time, we are only able to ship to addresses in the 50 United States.
 
Can I include a note with the package?
Yes. A gift message is included at no extra charge.
 
What is the 'Cakes By Kim' Guarantee?

We guarantee that your cheesecake order will leave our store in perfect condition. If it is received within the 2 day delivery time, your product will arrive in excellent condition. The only exceptions to our guarantee are if an incorrect shipping address is provided which causes the product to arrive late, or if the package is undeliverable as addressed. So please double check your shipping information when you place your order!

 

Your order will not be frozen when you receive it; it may be soft. (The ice pack will have thawed by that time, as well). Simply remove the cheesecake from the shipping carton and refrigerate to firm it up.
